Restoration Outreach Programs - Meeting Needs, Building Relationships and Restoring Lives through Christ on East Colfax

Long-term Volunteer Opportunties

ROP Youth Ministries

  • Spark Volunteers invest in the lives of elementary age kids during game time, snack time, bible lessons and special events each week.  Volunteers provide a safe and fun environment for kids to be kids, to grow and to learn of the love of Jesus Christ.  (Tuesday or Wednesday Evenings from 6:00-9:00 p.m.)
  • Ignite Volunteer – Ignite is a ministry of presence for middle school teens…
  • Impact Volunteer – Impact is a ministry of presence for high school teens where volunteers prayerfully pursue redemptive friendships in a team atmosphere allowing long-term relationships to grow organically.  We accomplish this by consistently being there for them on our scheduled night, ready to listen or play a game, and developing a strong sense of safety and family for the teens.  (Tuesday or Thursday evenings from 6:00-9:00 p.m.)

ROP Resource Ministries

  • Food Bank & Clothing Bank Volunteers seek to make an eternal impact on marginalized individuals and families living along East Colfax by providing compassion, encouragement, respect, food and clothing at our weekly food and clothing banks:

    • Clothing Bank-Wednesdays from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • GED Tutors seek to represent Christ as we build redemptive relationships with students within the context of GED tutoring. Tutors work one on one with students, building their knowledge and skill base as they build relationships by creating a supportive, encouraging and safe learning environment. (Daily or weekly 2-hour tutoring sessions Monday through Friday, 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.)
  • ESL (English as a Second Language) Tutors
  • Child Care Volunteers seek to represent Christ with skin on to those who need child care while involved in one of Heart to Hand’s programs. Child Care volunteers build relationships with both the children and their parents by creating a supportive, encouraging and safe environment. (Daily or weekly 2-hour child care sessions Monday  thru Friday, 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.)
  • Volunteer Mentors and Counselors seek to bring restoration and healing to individuals and families who otherwise would not be able to obtain these services through the facilitation of Biblically based counseling services.  Counselors and clients matched based on leaderships assessment of counselor experience and client need. (1-2 counseling sessions per week or as needed)

Restoration Outreach Programs

  • ROP Office Volunteers play a critical role as they serve as the first point of contact for many contacting ROP and assist the staff and ministry by performing a variety of administrative functions, including reception, mailings and phone coverage. (weekly 2-4 hr. periods)
  • ROP Computer Technician Volunteers provide behind the scenes direction and support to our ministry and staff through providing technical support as needed for our network and computers.
