Restoration Outreach Programs - Meeting Needs, Building Relationships and Restoring Lives through Christ on East Colfax

ROP Resource Ministries

The purpose of ROP Resource Ministries is to build community on East Colfax by providing resources that help individuals lead lives of self-sufficiency.

By having a presence in this community, it is our hope that we’ll continue to have the opportunity to share Christ to those who are hurting and without hope.

Who We Are:

History

In July 2010, Heart to Hand Resource Center changed its name to ROP Resource Ministries primarily to reduce confusion and to help newcomers understand that Heart to Hand Resource Center and Prodigal Gatherings – now ROP Youth Ministries – all work together as a unified whole under the umbrella of Restoration Outreach Programs.  Before the name change, ROP Resource Ministries operated for more than 6 years as Heart to Hand Resource Center.  The following is a brief history.

ROP Resource Ministries (formerly Heart to Hand Resource Center) was founded on the principle that as God shares His love with us, we can reach out to others in need. Before the doors of Heart to Hand opened, founder Deb Ford was providing counseling services to clients of Baby Buds, a ministry to single moms in Aurora. During this time, Deb witnessed one of her clients lose temporary custody of her child because she did not have the means to provide food and housing. Another woman was put in jail because she did not have the finances to complete parenting classes in the court-allotted time. Still another woman was working day labor jobs, leaving her children alone in motels along East Colfax just so she could pay for yet another night of housing.

Through seeing individuals like these roaming around without a hope or a future, the vision of Heart to Hand Resource Center was born and opened it’s doors. Now as ROP Resource Ministries, it continues to provide counseling services, as well as additional services such as GED training, parenting classes, a food bank, clothing bank, ESL classes, mentoring and discipleship. Our goal continues to be taken from Isaiah 58:6-7…

“Is this not the fast that I have chosen; to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every yoke? Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, and that you bring to your house the poor who are cast out; when you see the naked, that you cover them. . . “

Through providing physical resources, our hope is to share God’s love with the community and to instill in each individual a hope and a future.
